- I was wondering the same thing; I gave this modem a try recently and it seems
- to have even less appeal or reliability than the USR modems I have come to
- despise. Here's the only thing I've found on the net (this is from a company

- TND-0016: Aspen Modem Special Support
- ==============================================================================
-
- Last Updated : 06-27-1995
- Category : Modem Support
- Users Affected : Dial-Up Users
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Abstract:
- =========
- Some users may experience dialing problem using modems manufacturered by
- Aspen. These problems may include:
-
- - Inability to connect to a dial-up site
- - Inability to disconnect after issuing a 'bye' command
- - Connection Problems
- - Scripting aborts before connection is established, etc.
-
- Most of the problems described above can be eliminated by issuing a modem
- specific initialization string. This technical note describes how to
- modify the initialization string to achieve the desired results.
-
- Changing your Modem Configuration in Highway 1.01
- =================================================

- <esc> key.
-

-
- 4) In the 'File', 'Open' dialog box, select 'login.cmd' and press the 'OK'
- button.
-
- 5) You will see the script file that has some lines near the top that look
- like this:
-
- output ate1q0v1x4 s11=55\13
- %timeout1 = [input 15 OK\n]
- if !%timeout1
- display 'Modem is not responding properly.'\n
- abort
-
- 6) Find your modem from the list at the bottom of this technical note.
- You will find a column listing the initialization string for your
- modem.
-
- 7) Change the section that starts with 'output ate1q...' with the line
